Recently I have been watching crime dramas (The Wire, The Sopranos — both by HBO) a lot, so I added Boardwalk Empire (also by HBO) to the list. The latter is nowhere to be found however (except with HBO subscription): tried all (legitimate sources): iTunes, Amazon, Netflix. Either I wait for a few weeks, or I get HBO subscription (currently $10 a month). I ended up with the subscription. It reminded me of the following line from a worth reading article in the Economist.

“If HBO were to try selling its programmes directly via the internet it would have a hugely disruptive effect on the television business—more disruptive than anything Netflix or any other company has yet done.”

What do you think, could HBO be more disruptive than Netflix?
